We were greeted by the pleasant and extremely accommodating staff. The breakfast was sensational, they make a lot of meals.

The location of this venue, a former farm close to nature and industrial sites, is magnificent and lovely.

The ambience and restaurant were excellent and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The setting of the Chateau was superb and the scenery very beautiful.
Our room (No. 8) was very cramped and the access was nearly impossible for me, being handicapped. It is true that I didn't say that I was handicapped when making the booking, but there was no provision on the booking screen that I can remember. There was no conventional shower - just a shower head off the bath taps.

We had a comfortable stay in a clean double room with a large en-suite bathroom and a lovely sky light window, the location was amazing, and the staff was outstanding and very friendly throughout our visit!

This magnificent building is in a delightful setting overlooking the river with morning mist - true romance. The room was comfortable with a good view. Excellent breakfast and a good, if rather expensive, diningroom in a separate farmlike setting. We enjoyed our stay very much.
1 - The reception staff did not seem quite ready for our booking and arrival. 2 - The final bill was not prepared without some confusion. 3 - The hotel took a deposit on line at the time of the booking - that deposit has not been refunded. The hotel bill was paid in full. Please arrange for re-imbursement - Thank you - Jeremy Wellesley-Baldwin

Delightful setting. Magnificent restaurant - we had 2 memorable meals and outstanding service.
Whatever you do, do not book Room 6. We entered the hotel, had a very pleasant welcome but then the troubles began. Carrying 2 large bags and a laptop up a stone spiral staircase of 44 steps, in places without a handrail, was a nightmare. The room was in the roofspace with a large bed taking up most of the floor area. There was one small window, barred for safety as it was at floor level (impossible to get out in a fire). A very large cross beam prevented normal access to one side of the bed. The private toilet and bathroom facilities were in 2 tiny cramped rooms across the corridor. The wi-fi did not work in the room. Our 2 day stay at the weekend (704 steps) was not improved by the poor breakfast. On Sunday the bread was stale. Had we known prior to completing the booking that the room was not ensuite, we would not have booked. When the confirmation arrived, what was shown as free cancellation turned out to be a 30% non-returnable deposit. Remember the number six! Check before you book - I am sure the hotel has several very nice rooms if you are prepared to meet the price.

I've been visiting the chateau now since 1995. It still has the same charm and character as before, albeit the operation has now expanded somewhat, and has a more commercial feel. The location is special, nestling on the side of a tranquil river valley. The restaurant is now in the old farm house next door, a beautifully renovated building with charm and style.
Breakfast in the chateau dining room was a little spartan, with only juice, tea/coffee, bread, croissants and jam. All very good quality, but lacking in choice.
